Training consists of the Core Curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). The curriculum is taught by certified instructors. Additional certifications include OSHA 10 Safety Training, First Aid/CPR training, MSHA and Forklift Safety Training.

Ketchikan Construction Academy provides an introduction to construction trades at no cost for adults, 18 years or older, who are seeking skills that may lead to a good-paying job in the construction industry or related industries. For more information, contact the Ketchikan Job Center or KIC's Southern Southeast Alaska Technical Education Center (SSEATEC).
Applications for the 2012-2013 year will be available at orientation.
To apply:
1. You must attend one orientation session:

2. You must reach level 5 in Math and English on the KeyTrain program offered at the Ketchikan Job Center (contact Melissa Cruise).
4. If offered admission, you must pass a drug test at Tongass Substance Screening (TSS) to be considered accepted into the academy.
